MATT Construction Welcomes New Vice President of Business Development
As MATT continues to grow, the company welcomes Christopher Waight as Vice President of Business Development
Gearing up for growth in the coming years, MATT Construction welcomes Christopher Waight to its expanding leadership team. As Vice President of Business Development, Waight will play a critical role in expanding MATT’s portfolio, specifically within the markets of life sciences, design-build and higher education.
Christopher Waight has enjoyed an accomplished career as a LEED-accredited Architect working for award-winning architectural firms over the past 25 years. Chris’ experience is diverse, having worked as a Project Manager and Senior Project Architect spanning multiple market sectors such as higher education, K-12 education, commercial, healthcare and civic. Some of his projects include California State University’s Dominguez Hill’s Natural Sciences & Mathematics Building, Brighouse Elementary School, University California Los Angeles’ first cGMP Lab, the University of Hawaii Foundation’s Atherton Hale Student Life and Entrepreneurial Center, University of California Riverside’s Plant Research 1, LADBS, Cedars-Sinai and Providence Medical groups, and many more.
As a fourth-generation Californian and a Southern California Institute of Architecture graduate, Chris has long admired MATT Construction’s builder mentality and impressive ability to collaborate successfully with world-renowned design teams. Beyond helping to support the expansion of MATT’s portfolio, Chris will function as a key player in assisting clients in understanding the importance of critical, early decision-making with their programs–maximizing the efficiency of their projects. He will also support project teams by acting as a Design Manager.
With his design expertise and ability to cultivate an atmosphere of trust and open communication, Chris will contribute to the ultimate success of MATT’s job pursuits.
“I am thrilled to be part of the team at MATT–it’s an honor to join such a talented and professional group of expert builders, and to work directly with the best architects from Los Angeles and around the world. I’m looking forward to being a part of the collaborative process that makes MATT such a great place to work,” says Waight.
