The repurposed Malibu Lumber Yard is a boutique shopping center with restaurants. MATT Construction helped preserve original elements of the former lumber yard and hardware store. The complex uses a number of sustainable design elements, such as ipe wood siding and decking, Cor-ten steel siding, decomposed granite parking lots and a bio-swale system that naturally filters storm runoff prior to its diffusion into the ground water. During construction, over 95% of the project’s waste was recycled.
