Television Academy Theatre and Media Center

MATT Construction has been selected to build a new home for the Television Academy in North Hollywood.  The Television Academy is an extraordinary institution that unites professionals from multiple disciplines across the television industry.  As the Television Academy’s 70th anniversary approaches, ground will be broken on a new, state-of-the-art theatre and media center. This new, expanded and LEED-designed complex will serve as the home for the Television Academy Foundation’s initiatives alongside the many Television Academy programs, panels and professional development events for our members, industry partners, and the public.

The new complex will be a worthy home for the Television Academy Foundation’s initiatives and a premier destination for Television Academy members, industry partners, and the public. The LEED-designed building will offer state-of-the-art spaces where members, industry game-changers, and leaders in related fields can exchange ideas, introduce innovations and take part in conversations with a wide range of constituencies.

The new Media Center will also host an increased number of professional development events, awards ceremonies, discussions with business and creative leaders, and their landmark “Evenings With…” conversations with television’s most impactful performers and producers.

The centerpiece of the campus is a new, fully modern theatre for screenings and live stage events, including:

• 75’/85′ screen and 4K/3D digital projection system
• Proscenium, lighting and backstage area
• State-of-the-art sound system
• Stadium seating
• Formal greenroom and dressing room

Additional space at the Media Center will include:

• Conference center
• Lobby and gallery areas
• Television Academy Foundation offices
• Exhibition space for Hall of Fame Honorees
• Technology center
• Editing suite, control room and production studio

Construction on the project will start later this year.
