MATT Construction as Title Sponsor of the 40th Anniversary USC Architectural Guild Golf Tournament
CEO of MATT Construction, Steve Matt, is the Honorary Chair of the 40th Anniversary USC Architectural Guild Golf Tournament
MATT Construction is thrilled to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the USC Architectural Guild Golf Tournament – a tradition of engaging industry leaders in fostering impact and giving back to the future of the built environment professions. The 2021 event will see MATT Construction as the title sponsor, with Steve Matt as the honorary chair.
The event, set to take place at the stunning Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank, CA, on August 16th, 2021, draws partners, principals, and top-tier decision-makers from across the AEC community to support need-based and merit-based undergraduate and graduate student scholarships—81% of USC Architecture undergraduate students and 99% of graduate students receive some form of financial aid.
MATT Construction and USC have a long history of partnering together to achieve the University’s campus goals. MATT is passionate about providing mentorship, scholarship, and career opportunities to the talented students and graduates of USC. In memory of his father, who was a longstanding supporter of USC Architecture, Steve Matt established the Paul J. Matt Visionary Architect Scholarship Fund in 2019.
“Paul was a master-builder widely recognized for his creativity and innovation in realizing challenging designs. He was equally known for his exceptional respect for architects, and the extraordinary collaborative efforts he made to help them bring their design visions to life. We established this scholarship in 2019 and I know Paul would be very happy to see his legacy being continued by supporting the development of talented young architects,” said Steve Matt.
Steve Matt also serves as a member of the USC School of Architecture’s Board of Councilors. “The USC Architectural Guild provides the bridge for the building and design community to support and inspire the next generation of great architects,” said Steve Matt.
