Consecration Mass at Our Savior Catholic Church

The recently completed Our Savior Catholic Church was consecrated yesterday (Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012), with Los Angeles Archbishop Jose H. Gomez leading the Mass. Located at 32nd and Hoover, the 300-seat church was filled to capacity, with many students attending from neighboring USC. Also inaugurated was the USC Caruso Catholic Center, which forms part of the complex, along with a central open square. Both buildings incorporate a traditional Romanesque Italianate style, highlighted by such features as the church’s 75 ft. tall bell tower, stained glass windows, and exquisite liturgical artwork; and the student center’s loggia and “Juliet Balcony.”  MATT Construction worked with Elkus Manfredi Architects and Perkowitz + Ruth Architects on the project.  To read more about the occasion, click here.
