SCI-Arc at the Freight Yard was an adaptive reuse project which involved the conversion of a 1906 poured-in-place concrete railroad freight building into the new home of the SCI-Arc Architectural School. Restoration work included extensive repair of concrete, seismic upgrades and restoration of historically significant features. The project called for a complete buildout of the interior with the addition of mezzanines and classrooms, studios, shops and administrative offices.
