The seven-story Miyako Hybrid Hotel includes more than 200 guestrooms, conference rooms, a banquet room, a Japanese restaurant, a Shiatsu spa and an athletic facility. MATT brought sustainability suggestions to the table early in the preconstruction process, including a broader range of locally sourced and recycled materials. Most notably, MATT found a locally sourced sliding glass door model that matched the energy efficiency rating of the more expensive, east-coast manufactured doors originally specified. MATT’s suggested product ended up being considerably less expensive, had a faster delivery turnaround and contributed LEED points as a locally sourced material.
