A new 59,990 sf polygonal, tilt-up building with provisions for photovoltaic panels on the roof. The building includes a glass curtain wall, galleries, a lobby, a kitchen, a cafeteria, a museum store and administrative offices. The wedge-shaped structure incorporates many unique sustainable design features, including extensive use of materials manufactured from recycled products. The Children’s Museum of Los Angeles features a series of interactive exhibits with an environmental focus around themes of earth, air, fire and water.
