The Harvard Westlake School Muenger Science Center is a state-of-the-art science building is situated on a hillside site at the main entrace to the school’s academic core. The two-level structure accommodates 12 laboratory classrooms, a 125-seat lecture hall and administrative space designed to be flexible and adaptable to future needs. This high-tech building sets a new standard for high school laboratories worldwide. The exterior is sheathed in precast concrete with ceramtic tile accents. The roof is a sloping terracotta tile designed to shield the building’s mechanical and exhaust systems from view. The Science Center features two large saltwater aquariums, a scanning electron microscope and the best available networking and audiovisual equipment. Each classroom operates on its own water, gas and electrical supply. Custom-built lab tables emulate the finest professional laboratories in the country.
