A timelapse video showing how MATT’s team took a narrow outdoor space between two buildings and transformed it into one of the world’s leading experimental grounds for autonomous robotic systems. The aerodrome, or outdoor testing arena, features a custom-built 10’ x 10’ fan wall that can simulate such extreme atmospheric conditions as sandstorms, hail and turbulence. Its PTSE steel canopy protects from exterior weather while allowing in light. This design-build effort supported the research at Caltech’s Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies (CAST).
